Revolutionary War Day

Are you interested in helping students learn about the American Revolution? Do you like to act? If you answered yes or even maybe to those questions, we need your help. The 4th grade team is planning its 2nd American Revolution Character Day. We ask teachers and parents to come in dressed as an historical character from the Revolution and briefly discuss his/her impact on history with students. Characters can be real (Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Phyllis Wheatley, etc.) or can be fictional/semi-real (a character from a story, a family member).

The event takes a bit over 1 1/2 hours and you would travel between classes. The date is Friday, 12/19 from 9:30-10:30.

Please consider helping with this. The parents who volunteered last year are encouraged to "reprise" their roles and return, but we would love to have more characters. If you are willing to volunteer or have more questions, please contact Mrs. Holden at lholden@csdecatur.net.
