Friday, January 10th

To kick off our new Unit of Inquiry, students circulated the room and compared and contrasted pictures.  The pictures represented different perspectives, sides, or time periods on the same topic.  They completed a venn diagram, and wrote down wonderings.

Working to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words using context clues!

We used flashlights to determine the way light behaves when objects are opaque, translucent, and transparent!

On Fridays, we get to play Prodigy!  When we have a successful week, we celebrate with some time playing while we learn math.

We used cooking oil and paper to explore the way light behaves!  Students experimented with different types and colors of paper, deciding how light behaved both before and after oil was added to the paper.
