Friday, May 27th- Last day!!!
We made it! We presented, laughed, cried, played, sang, cried, danced, read, and cried some more. Thank you for a wonderful year!! Have a spectacular summer!

We had a great day celebrating our 5th graders and enjoyed a wonderful picnic lunch!

Happy Tuesday!
We enjoyed being Wacky and very Tacky today! Tomorrow is Dress to Impress as we celebrate our 5th graders.
We had a great day! Students continue to finish their I believe movies and we are practicing for our Village Gathering and Learning Celebration.
Our class store went wonderfully! Business owners worked hard to sell their products and even began marking items down as we got toward the end of our market. Students earned enough money to make a donation of $200 to Project Live Love!!! We are so thrilled!! Thank you!!

Happy Monday!!
We are off to a great start for our last week of 4th grade! We had a great time wearing our jerseys and shirts to support our favorite teams. Don't forget that tomorrow is Tacky Tuesday!!!
We were fortunate to get a preview of the F.AVE Finale and 5th Grade Exhibition today. We had several groups from 5th grade classes rehearse the Exhibition presentations in our room. This is the culminating inquiry for the IB Primary Years Program. Our class did a wonderful job watching the presentations. They gave wonderful, supportive, and helpful critiques of the presentations. We are looking forward to Wednesday!
Tomorrow, one of our Genius Hour groups is hosting an open air market. This group of students have worked for the entire term to create and execute a business plan. With their advertising, marketing, a goods or service prepared, we will host an open air market in our room tomorrow morning. If students would like to purchase any goods or service tomorrow, they should bring a few dollars to school with them (preferably in ones). All money raised during our open air market will be donated to Project Live Love. We can't wait!

Happy Friday!
We did a multiplication scoot this morning and students continued to work on their games. They are coming along nicely and will be ready to play next week.
Thank you so much to our parents for the class picnic! We had an indoor picnic because of the rain, and had a great time! There were lots of treats. :)
The class received their yearbooks today!! We enjoyed looking through them and signing them. Students should bring their yearbooks back on Monday to finish signing them.
Next week is spirit week!! Dress up each day to celebrate the last week of school.

Happy Wednesday!
We had a great start to our day, working with a visitor from The Wylde Center to make salad dressing and have a taste test. Ask your child about their favorite, and see the recipes below to make them at home!
Many students have completed the writing portion of their I believe essays, and they are turning out great! Students may ask to have pictures added to their Google drive from home in order to make their I believe movie.
A flyer was sent home today about next week's spirit week. We will celebrate the last week of school with dress up days. See the schedule below.
We hope to see you Friday for our class picnic! If it rains, we will still have our treats and eat in the classroom, and will eat outside one day next week. Our lunch will begin at 11:20.

We're enjoying our book, The Hope Chest. It is following the journey of a young girl, Violet, during the Women's Suffrage Movement. Ask your child to tell you more!

Tuesday, May 18th
Happy Tuesday!
We are working hard to plan and prepare for our Learning Celebration and Village Gathering next week!
We continued our inquiry into careers by exploring Architecture and Construction. Students were given limited materials to build a tower that balanced a marshmallow and only 15 minutes to complete the task. They had 5 minutes of planning and it was on to building! We discussed what was challenging/easy about the task.
We are working hard to plan and prepare for our Learning Celebration and Village Gathering next week!

Happy Monday!
We had a great start to the week! We continued practice with multiplication and exponents. Small groups continued working on their games. They are working diligently to proof read their instructions and create their materials. We are looking forward to playing the games and using them for future 4th graders.
We had our last visit to the media center this morning. During this time, students worked to set reading goals for the summer. They are hanging in the media center, and students will reflect on their goals when they return for 5th grade. Ask your child to tell you about their goals!
We have also been working to complete our I believe pieces for writing. Our next step is to create a movie about our I believe pieces. Students may need to bring in items or pictures to use in their movies. Please assist them with finding items to bring to school to work on this task this week.
We will be having a class picnic this Friday during our regular lunch time at 11:20. Thank you to a generous parent for winning this item for our class in the F.AVE online auction. Students should plan to bring or purchase their lunch as they normally would. We will take our lunch to the small park by the lower playground. Parents are welcome to join us to eat or just to visit. Ms. Ehmer and I will be bringing some additional treats to enjoy.

Learning Celebration
Our class' end of the year Celebration of Learning will be held in the classroom on Thursday, May 26th at 1:30. We hope you can join us!
