I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
We worked hard in math today, exploring triangles. Students worked to classify triangles based on the length of their sides, and the measure
ment of their angles. They completed several activities that involved manipulating and measuring triangles. They will be working on this tonight for homework.
We began discussing finances/money today. Students shared ways that they get money as kids, and took a brief survey to determine how they feel about money. This will be useful information later in this unit.
Worked to infer and explain reference from our book The Hope Chest. Students were able to utilize specific examples from the text to make connections to the cover of the book.
We also began outlining our summative opinion pieces. Students have been diligently collecting research on their historical figure and are ready to begin the outline of their piece. Writing pieces will be due next week.
I am looking forward to another busy day tomorrow. Don't forget to return your science experiment tomorrow. I will be conferencing with individual students to discuss their hypothesis and progress so far.
Information regarding library books was sent home today. Many students are currently reading the books that are on their page. They should not worry about having them turned in until May 21st.
