Monday, May 5th

Welcome back!  I hope you had a restful weekend.

We started our day measuring angles without protractors.  Students utilized pattern blocks to determine equations for measuring angles.  They then worked to combine pattern blocks to determine the size of a given angle.  Students will have further practice with this activity tonight.  They have their practice activity from class today with them to use as a reference for their homework.

We looked at the structure of our science experiments.  You will be receiving more information about this tomorrow.  Students will be coming up with a hypothesis and testing it at home.  They will be receiving guidance at school to assist them with their process.

I am posting some potential questions that may assist students in developing a hypothesis for their experiment.  Students are not limited to these questions.  You may want to look at them with your child and discuss some possibilities.  See the Science Experiments Link.

Students have MAP testing this afternoon.

Our field trip is tomorrow!  Please be on time for school as our buses will be leaving around 8:00.  Students should wear sunscreen and are encouraged to bring a water bottle.  We will be outside all day.

See you tomorrow!
