We had a wonderful Friday!!
Students worked with multi-step word problems that included division. They were able to practice their partial quotients strategy, along with using multiplication strategies. We will be taking our end of the term Math assessment on Monday. It will cover factors, multiples, prime and composite numbers, multiplication (1 by 3, 2 by 2), and division.
Students worked hard to complete their assessment on the 13 colonies. We were also able to complete reading reflections, writing publishing, and spelling tests.
Thank you to the parents who sent in treats to celebrate our October birthdays! If you will be trick-or-treating tomorrow, be safe and have a great time!
Don't forget to set your clocks back on Saturday night. Have a great weekend!!

Happy Thursday!
We had another eventful day!
Students worked to apply the partial quotients method for division when dividing with 3-digit and 4-digit dividends. They worked with math games to review multi-digit addition and subtraction. Use the Slide Share below to review partial quotients with your child during homework this evening.
Partial Quotients
We completed our science assessment on the sun, moon, and stars today. I know students worked hard!
We also completed a review activity for our 13 colonies. Students did well, but it would benefit them to study tonight. They can use the review reading passage that was sent home last week, or use this picture to assist them.
Don't forget that tomorrow is our last day to collect donations of paper goods.
See you tomorrow!

You may send in items all week. Thank you in advance for your donations!

Welcome back! I hope you had a restful weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather we had!
We continued our work with partial quotients today. Students worked to solve division equations using this strategy. We will expand our equations tomorrow to include three and four-digit dividends.
Because of the rain today, our first day of bike safety training was cancelled. I will keep you posted on rescheduling this time. We are still scheduled to have bike safety training on Wednesday during our normal PE time.
Students began working to create a comic strip about life in one of the colonial regions. They are incorporating important details, such as jobs, geography, and people who live in their region. Ask your child to tell you more!
We are scheduled to go on our walking field trip tomorrow morning to the Agnes Scott Planetarium. Our hope is that the rain holds off. We may also be able to take a bus, if there is one available. If not, we will reschedule the trip.
In your communication folders you will find pre-order forms for our upcoming author's visit and information about our next movie night.
Have a great night!

Students received their study guides today. These are not assignments to be turned in for completion, but are great tools for question and answer sessions about our standards.
Don't forget that bike safety is on Monday and Wednesday of next week. Your child is welcome to use their bike and helmet if they ride it to school. Otherwise, bikes and helmets will be provided.
