We started with our mid-module math assessment. Students performed well using area models and other place value strategies to solve multiplication equations and multi-step word problems.
Ms. Theisen joined us for a fun lesson about the relative distance of the planets. Students use a sentence strip to represent the solar system and place planets on the strip based on their distance from the sun and each other. Ask your child to tell you more (the brought their models home!)!!
We enjoyed a Math-a-thon celebration! Thank you to the PTO for providing all participants with a pencil, and to our room parents for our delicious snacks and drinks! If you forgot to send in your Math-a-thon pledge money, please send it on Monday. Thanks!
Students worked to complete their explorer log books. These are turning out wonderfully! They cover all of our standards and connect perfectly to our UOI. Ask your child to tell you more!!
