Wednesday, October 5th

Happy Wednesday!  It is the middle of the week, and we are rolling along.

Congratulations to Connor!  She is our class elected Superstar of the Month for September!  We are so proud of you!
We began our exploration of factors, multiple, prime, and composite numbers today.  Students worked to define each word and complete a graphic organizer.  They find the work fun and difficult, as it relates to multiplication facts.  We will be reviewing our mid-module math assessment tomorrow and will continue with our multiplication inquiry.

During reading, we reflected individually on what it means to be respectful, and what we need in our classroom to be successful.  We reviewed our responses together and realized that most of our class needs only a couple of the things.  We need a classroom that is not too noisy, a classroom that is kind, and a classroom that is fun.  I am proud of the reflection and honesty from our class today.

The comic books are coming along amazingly well!  They are so fantastic, that the class is getting an extra day!  I'm so impressed with their creative application of our inquiry into the European Explorers.

Saturday is fast approaching!  If you haven't registered for the Fifth Avenue 5k or Mayors Mile, there's still time!  Our class is in the lead for registration.  We are going to meet on the lower playground and wear red to represent our F.AVE Falcons!!

Next week will be spirit week!  We are celebrating the DHS Homecoming game by dressing up each day.  See the list below for the schedule.
