We had another wonderful day and I could not be more proud of how much we accomplished! We continued our work with division. Students worked on graph paper to create arrays. We looked at the dividend and divisor and used our arrays to determine the quotient. Be on the look out for division homework next week.
Students completed their Solar System books today. I am looking forward to more discussions about the planets and beginning our study of the moon.
In Social Studies we have continued our journey from European Explorers to the establishment of colonies. Students watched a short video clip that introduced Jamestown and some of the challenges that colonists faced. We also correctly labeled a map of the 13 colonies.
Please continue to support your children at home. Read every night and ask your child questions about what they have read. We are discussing perspective, so students should be able to tell you in which person their book is written (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and give you evidence from the story that supports their answer.
I am so excited to see you all tomorrow for another wonderful day of learning!
