Wednesday, October 9th

We had a very productive day!  Students worked to learn some divisibility rules.  These are rules that will assist them in determining if a dividend can be divided equally by a divisor.  Students created a small booklet for their math journals.  They were also introduced to xtramath.org.  I have sent home an information paper with your child's log in.  This is a great resource for practicing math fluency.

They continued their research on the planets and are working on their planet books.  Most of them are very close to complete.

Can you draw upside down?  Well, we can!!  Students used careful observation to create a drawing upside down.

We are continuing to work to determine if a text is written in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person.  After reviewing, students watched a Brain Pop video on their iPads and took a short quiz.  We are also being challenged to write a piece from a specific point of view.  This is a great challenge to students and can be more difficult than you think.  We are continuing reading conferences.

Homework: Read for 30 minutes, Math practice
