I can't believe it is already October!  We had a great start to our month.  We worked with multiplication this morning, utilizing the partial products method.  This method breaks numbers apart to make them more manageable to multiply.  It also allows students to see the exact amounts being multiplied together.  I am posting a sample below.  Students should have also copied a sample to the back of their homework page and if you need further information you can go to learnzillion.com.  Enter quick code LZ1875 and watch a five minute video clip.

We began our explorer presentations and will continue them tomorrow.  They have done a wonderful job so far!  Students should be ready for their summative assessment on Friday.

Students continued working on their small moments piece from our trip to Woodland Gardens.  We are working to revise and have clearly defined paragraphs.  Students are taking a small moment and making it bigger by adding details specific to that moment.  They are working very hard.
