Friday!!!!!!  And what a Friday it was....

Congratulations to Maren!  She is the winner of our class spelling bee and will compete in the school wide spelling be on Tuesday.  We are so proud of you!!

We enjoyed a visit from Mrs. Craig.  She talked to us about sound and went in depth about how to change the pitch of a sound.  Ask your child to tell you more!!

We had Code Red Drill today.  This was to practice procedures in the event of an emergency in the building.  See the e-blast from Ms. Newton for more information, and let me know you have any questions.

We began to discuss the compromises of the Constitutional Convention.  Ask your child about The New Jersey Plan, The Virginia, and The Great Compromise that lead to the structure of our legislative branch.

Students inquired into Martin Luther King, Jr.'s I have a dream speech as a form of expression.  They worked to connect the speech to our central idea, that insight into beliefs and ideas can be gained by observing the many ways in which they are expressed.
