Happy Thursday!
We continued working to compare fractions today. Some math groups worked to utilize benchmark fractions on a number line to determine the greater fraction. They were able to use knowledge of benchmark fractions, such as 1/2 and 1/4, to determine where each of their fractions would fall on the number line.
We created a color wheel of the visible spectrum today to inquire further into reflection. As the colors rotate, light reflecting off of the colors together creates the color white. Ask your child to demonstrate!
Students asked great questions about the checks and balances of our branches of government this afternoon. We had wonderful discussions about how the powers of each branch work together to ensure that no branch has more power than another. Many students were making great connections to our the recent debates between potential presidential candidates.
As we continue to express our ideas and beliefs through writing, students began plotting the arc of their fictional narrative pieces. We are still in the planning phases, but the ideas are flowing. Ask your child to give you details about the characters and setting that they have developed, and what they plotted on their arc today!
Study for your spelling test. It's tomorrow!!
Have a fantastic night!
