What a great day on The Ave!
Students began inquiring into the characteristics of objects in relation to light. They explore different objects, determining their characteristics. They utilized flashlights and overhead lights to notice how light travels. We were then able to add some new vocabulary to our IB Journals. Ask your child to tell you more about opaque, translucent, and transparent objects!
We worked in reading stations this afternoon. Students began inquiring into the theme of our piece titled, Eleven. We worked in three stations today, and will complete the last three stations tomorrow.
We also began exploring how we express ourselves through writing. This term, students will be working to create fictional narrative pieces. Today, we inquired into the places that authors get ideas for writing their fictional narratives. We determined that they come from small moments that happen in their real lives, and from books or stories that they wish existed. Students were challenged to come up with a few ideas for each category in their writing journals.
We hope to see you tomorrow at 8:45 for our Village Gathering!
Have a great night!
