Another great day!
We continued our work with our fraction kits, and with decomposing fractions utilizing models. Students inquired into different types of models to express their ideas about fractions.
We worked in reading stations this afternoon. We completed three today and will complete the remaining stations on Thursday. Some students began exploring poetry. They were inquiring into how the poem expressed the ideas and beliefs of the author. They also worked to provide evidence about the theme or message presented in their poem.
We continued prewriting for our fictional narratives. Students narrowed down their topic today and began developing their main character. They were working to define specific features about their main character. Ask your child to tell you more!
Don't forget to send in the field trip permission forms and money as soon as possible.
