Friday, January 8th

Happy Friday!

These short weeks always go by so quickly!  We began inquiring into fractions today.  Students explored fractions using color tiles and began creating fraction models for their math journals.  We will continuing working on this on Monday.

We had a wonderful time celebrating our term 3 learning during our Village Gathering!  Thank you for celebrating with us!

"Your cruise ship has wrecked on a deserted island with no hope of being rescued.  You and a small group of passengers have been charged with the task of creating the new laws/rules for your new community.  What laws would you create to express the ideas and beliefs of your community?"
This was the challenge posed to our students today.  Ask your child to tell you more about this inquiry and how they reflected on the laws/rule created by another community.

Don't forget to check the upcoming events for information about things happening in our classroom and our school.  Also, see Wednesdays post if you wish to sign up to lead a College and Career Exploration.

I hope you have a restful weekend!
